"Music is a great activity to bring to a student's life. It allows one to be artistic yet tests methodical processes. It provides goals to work toward yet opens social opportunities by being involved in bands and orchestras. It's a great opportunity for me, as a music teacher, to help students achieve all these things and more."
Glen has been a clarinet and saxophone teacher at the Music Education Centre since 2001, but has also taught privately and at Westlake Boys High School. As well as having taught for 16 years, his primary occupation is as a software developer. Glen is currently employed at Navico, the maker of high end marine electronics software and hardware.
“I appreciate that everyone will have a slightly different musical journey and I enjoy assisting students in their endeavours, whether it be mastering those jazz rhythms, playing in their school orchestra or acing an ABRSM grade exam. I place emphasis on being able to read and play many musical styles, but students are always encouraged to request music that they'd like to play."
