Personal Profile
“Each individual has their own unique approach to learning, and as a teacher I consider it my responsibility to seek this out and support its potential, so they can realise their own talent and potential.”

Growing up in Dunedin, Reuben gained a Bachelor of Music, and also a Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching, as has been teaching guitar and drums for 5 years. Before beginning his teaching career he was involved in support care for around 10 years.

“I would describe myself as someone who is excited to learn, to face challenges and enjoy every moment as it comes. I am always looking for ways to use my strengths so that I can get involved and actively support others.”

Reuben has been playing music for over 15 years, having learned to play and perform with drums, guitar and singing. He performed with many different bands, doing multiple tours of the South Island. He has played at weddings, performed at Fea Stock (an annual Dunedin concert consisting of popular local bands), and appeared on the New Zealand X-Factor in 2015, making it to the top 5 bands.

In his spare time Reuben enjoys writing his own music, and diligently works away on different projects relating to video game design, including writing music for them.
