Personal Profile
Ron Coleman is an experienced and talented pianist, who has been working and living overseas, performing on Princess cruise ships as a solo pianist (and in music groups) for the last 12 years. Previously he worked in Wellington with a group called the Velox Brothers, they were the house band at the Park Royal Hotel for six years. Prior to this, Ron played for many years with function groups on both acoustic and electronic pianos. He spent three years in the US touring with a show band and four years in Europe and the UK playing in Pop-Rock bands on the Hammond organ.

Ron's repertoire is vast, including many genres such as pop, jazz, latin, ethnic, classical, show music and more.

“Interaction with students is important to me. That is, to play for and with the students, making it fun with a sense of humour. My catch phrase is “Never play anything you don’t understand.” Study, understand and learn from this.”
